Effects of cocaine can damage the body permanently and cause addiction and even death. The cocaine effects each person differently and there are two catagories of cocaine effects short-term and long-term effects. If someone only does cocaine one time they can have some short term effects. The long-term cocaine effects show after the time duration and amount consumed. The cocaine is a highly addictive drug t can cause medical complications, health problems. Some of the complications include strokes, nausea, chest pain, heart attacks, respiratory failure and GI problems.Some of the long-term cocaine effects are restlessness, irritability, paranoia,addiction and mood disturbances.
Cocaine can be injected, snorted, and even smoked in some form of the drug. The cocaine is a central nervous system stimulant which affects the brain’s processing of dopamine. The cocaine interferes with the reabsorbtion of dopamine which is a brain chemical that has to do with pleasure and movement and procduces a great high feeling. Right when the cocaine is ingested the user could experience these symptoms dilated pupils, constricted blood vessels, increased heart rate and increased body temperture and higher blood pressure. During the high feeling period after cocaine use which can last up to 30 minutes the user can experience reduced fatigue, hyperstimulation and mental alertness. Sometimes they will have anxiety, irritability and restlessness.
